ISO 14001 Registration
The Wastewater Division has an Environmental Management System (EMS) compliant with the ISO 14001:2015 international standard for Environmental Management Systems.
The Wastewater Division was the first ISO registered EMS for a public agency in the Pacific Northwest when they were first registered in 2001 against the previous 1996 ISO 14001:1996 standard, and was one of less than six ISO registered EMS’s for a public wastewater agency in the United States at that time.
The Wastewater has maintained their EMS and continues to be audited on a regular basis by an external auditor to ensure conformance with the ISO standard.
