Most regular City of Eugene employees are entitled to twelve weeks of family or medical leave during any 12-month period, as provided under the federal Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) of 1993, and under the State of Oregon Family Leave Act (OFLA, ORS 659.010 and 659.121).
OFLA provides additional protections for employees who need to take time off to care for qualifying children whose school or place of childcare is closed due a COVID-19 related reason.
To begin the process, complete a Family and Medical Information Form and return to COEBenefitsLeaveTeam@ci.eugene.or.us. Once your form is processed, the Leaves staff will provide your designation that may have additional steps for you to complete.
