1. How many of the 15,000 housing units needed will be single-family homes and how many will be various types of multi-family housing?: This issue is referred to as housing mix. The draft Envision Eugene proposal suggests that future multi-family housing should be accommodated inside the existing urban growth boundary (UGB) by focusing on transit corridors and existing multi-family and commercially zoned lands. Tools such as area planning and Opportunity Siting will be critical in advancing this objective.

2. What strategies will be required to accommodate additional small homes like alley access houses and secondary dwelling units?: These strategies are sometimes referred to as efficiency strategies, because they make more efficient use of land already inside our urban growth boundary (UGB).

3. How much might we need to expand our urban growth boundary (UGB) and where could expansion potentially occur?: These questions are being looked at by the Technical Resource Group, a sub-group of the Community Resource Group that met throughout 2010 to help frame the Envision Eugene process.
